KAT VON D DISASSOCIATES HERSELF FROM FRIEND JEFFREE STAR IN LENGTHY SOCIAL MEDIA POST

Kat Von D wanted the whole world to know that she was no longer associating herself with pal Jeffree Star, singer and makeup artist, so she took to social media to announce the break in their friendship late on Monday night, July 18, 2016.
"After years of making excuses for, and rationalizing Jeffree's inappropriate behavior (including, promoting drug use, racism, and bullying) I can no longer hold my tongue after recent events," she wrote in an Instagram post. "I know that over the years, many of you were introduced to Jeffree through me, and regardless if you chose to continue to follow him or not, I just would like to disassociate myself from him and his brand from this point on."
With that, Kat also promised to elaborate on the reasons for her public announcement in the coming days.
"I plan on posting a video explanation as to why I felt compelled to make such a statement. But for the time being, I simply want to apologize to anybody and everybody who has ever had to deal with any of his negativity," the 34-year-old said.
The tattoo artist, who has her own makeup line, even dedicated a shade of her Kat Von D lipstick to Jeffree, but now says she'll be discontinuing the color.
"And yes, with a heavy heart, I will be pulling the shade "Jeffree" from my collection," she continued.
Finishing, "Sending extra love to everyone out there."

Kat Von D and Jeffree Star get into a major twitter row

There has to be something in the water right now, because social media feuds are poppin' off ALL over the place.
As if the whole Kim/Taylor and Chloe/Khloe dramz wasn't bad enough, now the beauty gurus of the world are getting antsy too. Seriously, we're finding it hard to keep up.
Yep, Kat Von D and Jeffree Star had it out on social media last night, and it all started when Kat shared a picture of Jeffree with a big 'no entry' sign across his face.

Kat Von D Slams Jeffree Star: "I'm Not Scared of You"

Makeup fans are buzzing over Kat Von D's Facebook post disassociating herself from YouTuber and former friend Jeffree Star. After promising to do so, she has now released her video statement. It is nearly 14 minutes long, but Kat spoke calmly and rationally throughout, sharing stories of how she's watched him bully fans, smaller brands, and even herself — and she claims that she was the one to help him start his line of products.
"If you ask Jeffree how he made his makeup line, I'm sure the story will be about how he's so self-creative," she said. "I went to such great lengths [to help him], I even hooked him up with a factory that was actually producing my Everlasting Liquid Lipstick formula . . . I got Jeffree a meeting to see if he could start his own makeup line."
Kat goes on to explain the true reason behind her self-imposed disassociation from Jeffree Star. She says that she set him up with a fellow artist, BJ Betts, to design his packaging for his makeup range. Kat states that not only did Jeffree use Betts's art without giving him credit, but he didn't even pay him for his work. "BJ would call him and Jeffree blocked his phone," she said.
"As far as being ethical . . . I think it's really wrong, what Jeffree's done. I think he needs to pay BJ," Kat exclaimed. She then said to Jeffree, "You can't sit there and post all these videos of you, like 'Get Ready With Me in My Rolls Royce,' and then not pay a guy who worked really hard for you."
"You have the option to do the right thing — why not do that?" she went on. She seems to mourn their past friendship throughout the video but makes it explicit that any goodwill between the two of them is gone, "The Jeffree that he is now is a monster . . . this attention-seeking, fame-desiring, money-driven monster that I want no part in."
Kat even apologizes to those who have been negatively affected by Jeffree's attitude. "If I do regret anything, it's setting Jeffree up with that factory," she said. "I regret being a part of helping somebody become so self-absorbed when I probably could have spoken up a lot sooner."
Toward the end of the video, Kat is very clear that she doesn't want her fans to go after Jeffree. She explains that he's seen him rile up his followers and attack social media users on his behalf, and she is not interested in perpetuating that kind of behavior. "You can pick on all these other people that might be intimidated and won't say anything back, but Jeffree, I'm not scared of you," she announced. "If anything," she asked of her fans, "send positive vibes his way so he can make positive changes to his life, so he's not continuously hurting people around him."
Kat chose to disable the YouTube comments on this video in hopes of avoiding a "commenting war," but said that she wants to "live in a world where people are nicer to each other and stick up for what's right," signing her remarks with #payyourbills. We reached out to Jeffree for a statement, and he responded.
"I will be recording my own video with the truth," he told POPSUGAR. "I will not be responding to any media outlets so you can all feed off of negativity and make money off of our pain and miss truths [sic]. I understand you're just doing your job, so it's nothing against you but I want no part in this circus." He added, "What you should be doing [is] hosting a news article on how she dated a neo Nazi and supported his feelings . . . but I guess everyone's forgotten about that." He signed off with a cheery, "Have a good day."

Pokemon Go: Video shows moment rare Vaporeon appears in Central Park and all hell breaks loose

Scores of people were caught on camera in a chaotic scramble through Central Park after a rare character in hit game Pokémon Go
This video, reportedly filmed in New York City's iconic park, shows traffic stopping in the street as people sprint in the direction of the rare Vaporeaon.
“Oh my god,” a voice is heard saying. “There’s a Vaporeaon right there, so everyone’s running.”

Players of Pokémon Go, an augmented reality game, must catch different characters using their smartphones.
The game has disrupted everyday life across the US and Europe, causing all sorts of problems for its users and the public.
On Saturday, reports emerged of Pokémon Go’s servers crashing, with good weather being blamed – as everyone was happy to go outdoors to play.
Pokémon Go has started a worldwide craze which entrepreneuring individuals have already begun taking advantage of. Numerous pub crawls have been started in the US, themed around the game.
In Mexico, a taxi driver has begun driving smartphone-armed customers around in search of the game's target creatures. Emilio Cacho, a 29-year-old cab driver from the city of Minatitlan in the eastern state of Veracruz, said he began offering services as a "Pokemon hunter" on Monday and has received more than 20 calls since the start of the week.

Nate Thurmond, Warriors Center and Defensive Wall, Dies at 74

Nate Thurmond, the Hall of Fame center for the Golden State Warriors who became one of the N.B.A.’s most dominant defensive players and rebounders while battling some of the leading big men in league history, died Saturday in San Francisco. Thurmond, who was named one of the N.B.A.’s 50 greatest players in 1996 when it celebrated its 50th anniversary, was 74.
The cause was leukemia, his wife, Marci, confirmed.
Thurmond, who played mostly for the Warriors in the 1960s and ’70s, averaged 15 points a game, displaying a fine outside shooting touch, along with 15 rebounds. He played 11 seasons for the San Francisco and Golden State Warriors and his final three seasons with the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was a seven-time All-Star and was selected for the N.B.A.’s first or second all-defensive team five times.
He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass., in 1985.
Thurmond, at 6 feet 11 inches, vied with the likes of Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Willis Reed and Wilt Chamberlain, his onetime teammate.
“The toughest center for me to play against is Nate Thurmond,” Abdul-Jabbar once remarked.
“He played with unbelievable intensity and was simply a man among boys on most nights, especially on the defensive end,” Jerry West, the Hall of Fame guard for the Los Angeles Lakers and a member of the Warriors’ executive board, said Saturday on the team’s website.
LeBron James, Thurmond’s fellow Akron, Ohio, native, wrote on Twitter on Saturday: “Knowing u played in the same rec league as me growing up gave me hope of making it out! Thanks!”
Thurmond became the first player to record an official quadruple-double when he made his debut with the Bulls, scoring 22 points along with 14 rebounds, 13 assists and 12 blocks against the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 18, 1974.
In the mid-’60s, Thurmond hauled down 42 rebounds against the Detroit Pistons, the best single-game rebounding effort of his career. He set an N.B.A. one-quarter rebounding record with 18 against the Baltimore Bullets in February 1965.

Pokémon Go makers call for calm as servers crash across Europe and US

Pokémon Go servers crashed across Europe and the US on Saturday, as global demand for the hit mobile app soared in its first weekend since being launched in the UK.
Players in 26 countries took advantage of mostly good weather to venture outdoors to hunt and capture their first Pokémon creatures, with millions having downloaded the game in its first days since release.
The app, developed by Niantic and part-owned by Nintendo, calls on users to move around the real world, overlaying their normal landscape with an augmented reality that projects digital creatures on to the streets around them.
Confirming users’ difficulty accessing the game, Niantic said on its website: “Due to the incredible number of Pokémon GO downloads, some Trainers are experiencing server connectivity issues. Don’t worry, our team is on it!”

Users across Europe and the US complained they are unable to access the game, or that it is regularly freezing.
